Neuro Linguistic Programming, first created in the 1970s by Richard Bandler and John Grinder, is a personal development system that uses:
Neurology - how the body regulates its functions
Language - how we communicate
Programmes - how our upbringing and personal experiences 'program' our minds and affect our behaviour.
With groups:
On paper - helping clients to analyse documents during the tendering process
In teams – using NLP techniques to build team effectiveness and confidence in a variety of situations throughout a bid – for example, preparing for specific client meetings or negotiations
With individuals:
In problem solving - working with individuals to improve their personal performance, increase confidence and overcome obstacles.
In business relationships – helping management with corporate goal setting, with client relationships and with staff relations.
In the UK, NLP practitioners are trained and regulated by organisations accredited by The Professional Guild of NLP.
