Terry worked for IBM where he built a reputation for masterminding successful proposals. He developed courses for the company's Business School on persuading in business through the written word. The courses were ground-breaking in their use of Terry's extensive research into the uses of logic, psychology and the workings of the brain. Terry's background is in language - he has masters degrees in Classics and in Linguistics, and is fluent in French. He also has an Advanced Certificate in Marketing, awarded by the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Terry is a named contributor to the Oxford English Dictionary, where he helped to convert the printed volumes into an online version. He is also a certified practitioner in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP).
